NRA (CRSO) CHIEF RANGE SAFETY OFFICER COURSE

Pre-Requisites:

1) NRA (BIT) Basic Instructor Training must be completed within the 24 months preceding this course

2) NRA Certified Range Safety Officer (RSO)

Short Description : To develop NRA Certified Range Safety Officers who possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to train and supervise NRA Range Safety Officers and to provide the essential information required to develop Range Standard Operating Procedures

More Details:  The course is eight hours long and is conducted by an NRA Training Counselor in a classroom and/or at a shooting facility.

NRA Certified Chief Range Safety Officer candidates will learn the following topics:

1. Introduction to NRA Basic Range Safety Officer Course Lesson Plans
2. The Role of the Chief Range Safety Officer and Range Standard Operating Procedures
3. Teaching NRA Basic Range Safety Officer Course Lesson I:  Introduction to the NRA Basic Range Safety Officer Course and Lesson II:  The Role of the NRA Range Safety Officer and Range Standard Operating Procedures
4.  Teaching NRA Basic Range Safety Officer Course Lesson III:  Range Inspections and Range Rules
5.  Teaching NRA Range Safety Officer Course Lesson IV:  Range Safety Briefing
6.  Teaching NRA Basic Range Safety Officer Course Lesson V:  Emergency Procedures
7.  Teaching NRA Basic Range Safety Officer Course Lesson VI:  Gun Stoppages and Malfunctions
8.  Teaching NRA Basic Range Safety Officer Course Lesson VII:  RSO Test and Review

All materials will be provided for you. You must supply your own ammunition for all range activities.

(BIT) Basic Instructor Training will begin at 5:00 PM and is six hours on the day before the class.

The Chief Range Safety Officer (CRSO) Class will begin at 8:00 on the day of the class and is eight hours.
